Is PVC Angle Trim Actually Weatherproof?
Rigid PVC is inherently water resistant. Unlike wood, it will not rot, swell or absorb moisture, and unlike untreated metal, it will not rust or corrode. This makes it a practical choice for exterior corners, cladding edges, garden buildings, and greenhouse frames where the trim is exposed to rain and damp conditions all year round.

Over several years of direct, unshaded sunlight, white PVC trim can show a slight yellowing, particularly on cheaper or unstabilised material. Black PVC trim tends to show fading less visibly than white.

Flexible PVC is worth considering only where the trim needs to follow a curve or an irregular surface, for example on a curved polytunnel section. For flat, straight-edge outdoor applications, rigid is more durable and easier to fix.

- Avoid creating pockets where water can sit against the trim, angle cut ends slightly where water needs to run off
- If appearance matters more than function in a highly exposed spot, black trim will show less visible fading than white over the long term
- Painting is optional, not required. Rigid PVC can be painted with a suitable plastic primer if you want to match a specific exterior colour
